What We're Listening To: The Bugle

So in my eternal struggle to phase out the radio, I went on a podcast downloading/subscribing spree!

One of the podcasts I've started subscribing to is The Bugle, ft. John Oliver of The Daily Show. Similarly to The Daily Show, it's a news satire show. But honestly this podcast had me laughing hysterically. The banter back and forth works brilliantly, and... you learn something!

It's SCIENCE!

A new study has come out!
Basically, it says one of two things, and people seem to be fairly split on it.
Either: A) Men are Dense
or B) Women are deceptive/confusing

The study shows that some crazy percentage of men interpret a woman's attempts at being friendly as sexual advances/flirting. Meanwhile an equally large percentage of men interpret a woman's sexual advances/fliting as acts of friendship.

I also plan to run a scientific study to determine the following:
1) what percentage of kids like candy
2) do people truly like parfait as much as that cartoon donkey seems to think
3) how many unnecessary scientific studies can someone get funding for.

What We're Listening To

So, now that radio has reached a new low, and I get annoyed with the constant replaying of annoying audio clips that weren't funny the first time, I've "gotten with the times" and started downloading podcasts. I've taken up the highly recommended by kyp: "Filmspotting" as well as the highly recommended by mm3 (older brother matt): "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me"

The NPR weekly news quiz which is absolutely fantastic. It features an ever rotating panel of 3 which on occasion features former Daily Show correspondent Mo Rocca. Regardless, the show delivers pretty much none stop laughs, and a little bit of education, and keeps you up to date with what's going on in the world.... like Elliot Spitzer :P

The other major promising podcast I've been listening to is an oldie by goodie, none other than Revision3's "Diggnation". A weekly video podcast featuring Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht. The dynamic duo share their thoughts on the top stories from the week off the social news website http://www.digg.com/. But more than often we get to listen to them get side-tracked and talk about the most random things they can think of... such as being locked-IN kevin's apartment or perhaps... zombie dogs.
If you're looking for something good to listen to while driving... working... or pretty much doing anything, check out Diggnation and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Both are available through the itunes music store.
You can also check them out at http://www.diggnation.com/ and www.npr.org/programs/waitwait/.
